 Karel Louwrens Theodorus birth certificate When Karel was born, his parents were most likely living at Olijstraatje 471 since this was their location when his sister, Antonia Maria Margareetha, was born 1825[3]. This street has now disappeared and is covered by a shopping complex[4].  By 1827, they had moved to Schoenmakerstraat 442[5] and by October 1829 they had moved to Bruggestraat 109[13].  The 1830 Census of
Harderwijk[6]
showed Karel living with his parents at Bruggestraat 109. He and his
family continued living at Bruggestraat 109 through to at least 1835[7,8]
but by 1839, they had moved to Bruggestraat 114 and remained there until
at least 1841[9,10]. (The Harderwijk Census of
1840[11]
stated that the family was living at Bruggestraat 111 but this was
probably an error.)
Harderwijk's register of inhabitants for the periods of 1862-1870 and 1870-1880 has Karel living with his parents at Bruggestraat 44[14,15]. This the renumbered 114. Karel worked as a Carpentry Joiner[15]. In December 1870,
Karel lodged
the death certification for his father, Petrus Josephus[12].
On this certificate, Karel stated that he was living in Harderwijk. He
would have been 47 years old and he stated his occupation as a Carpentry
Joiner, just as his father’s occupation.
Karel died in Norg on 29 September 1896[2]. His death certificate states that he was not married and unemployed at the time. He lived in the Veenhuizen district of Norg.  |
