With them are

yrs), William (10 yrs), Charles (8 yrs), Eliza (6 yrs), Louisa (4 yrs),
Emily (2 yrs) and Maria (1 yr).

In 1851, the family was living at 1 Ratcliff Street, Parish of St Anne's, Limehouse. Thomas is worked as a Shipwright. Ann was noted as a Storekeper, General Goods. The children mentioned werere:- Sarah (22 yrs), Charles (18 yrs),
Eliza (16 yrs), Emily (12 yrs), Maria (10 yrs), Helena (8 yrs) and
Andrew (6 yrs) but Louisa Charlotte is missing. Staying with a friend perhaps?

Emigration to Australia
After only one year of marriage, Louisa Charlotte and Charles Young emigrated to Australia and arrived in Sydney on 4 October
1857 aboard the clipper ship "Light of the Age" which sailed from London
Docklands. They travelled from England with Louisa's older brother Thomas James and older sister, Sarah Ann and their families. The three families made their way south to Bendigo where their brother, John Joseph was already established.
Charles stated his occupation to be a Labourer.
Also he stated he was 23 years old and born in Limehouse, London
and his parents were James Young and Sarah. His birth entry has
not been found.

The "Light of the Age" was a clipper ship of 1297 tons. Its Master was S McBeath. It left London on 29 June 1857.
ship had a poor record with its trip the previous year marred by a
collision with the clipper "Dallam Tower" in the Great Australian Bight
and was subsequently wrecked in 1868 at Point Lonsdale, Victoria on a
voyage from Liverpool to Melbourne
and Louisa brought no children to Australia but once they arrived in
Bendigo, they got right into building a family with 8 children
born between 1861 and 1879.
death entry for Charles Young has been found. Maybe they divorced
(unlikely) but in 1892, Louisa Charlotte married Matthew Babbington
(probably in Bendigo, Victoria). Matthew was born in Kilwinning, Ayreshire, Scotland ca 1828.
Charlotte died in Bendigo on 30 August 1898 and was buried at the Kangaroo Flat
Cemetery on 31 August 1898. She lies in the Church of England Section, Grave
from Louisa Charlotte's Last Will
In her Last Will dated 6 November 1894, Louisa Charlotte leaves her
possessions to be divided between her children, Ellen Jane, James
Benjamin and Arthur George except that Ellen Jane has first choice of
the household furniture. The same three children were also
appointed as her Executors. There is no mention of Albert Edward
who was still living at the time.
Matthew Babbington died in Bendigo in 1906.
He was buried on 12 May 1906 at the Bendigo Cemetery, Monumental Section
E6, Grave 18867.

1. Charles Sydney Young was born ca 1861 (probably Bendigo) and died in Richmond, Victoria in 1898.
2. Isabella Victoria Young was born in 1863 in Bendigo.
3. Albert Edward Young
was born in 1866 in Bendigo and died in 1937 in Melbourne, Victoria.
In 1892, he married Charlotte Elizabeth Sutch. Charlotte
was born ca 1869 in Bendigo and died in 1952 in Windsor Victoria. Albert and Charlotte had (at least) 7 children:-

was born in 1894 in Long Gully (via Bendigo). He died in
1964 in Hawthorn, Victoia. In 1939, he married Clara Pope.

3.5 Sidney Charles Young was born in 1901 in Long Gully. he died in 1965 in Brunswick, Victoria

4. Eliza Evangeline Young
was born in 1868 in Kangaroo Flat, Victoria. She died aged only a
couple of months and was buried on 25 May 1868 at the Bendigo Cemetery
in Grave 3025.
5. Ellen Jane Young
was born in 1870 in Kangaroo Flat and died in 1931 in Eaglehawk,
Victoria. She was buried on 9 January 1931 at the at Eaglehawk
Cemetery, Section MON A4, Grave 58. In 1902, she
married Arthur William Horace Roots. Horace was born in Diss, Norfolk,
England in 1864 and died in 1942 in Bendigo. His parents were William Roots and Eliza Dade. He was buried on 12
May 1942 and lies in the same grave as Ellen Jane. Ellen Jane and Arthur had (at least) one child:-

was born in Eaglehawk in 1907 and died in Eaglehawk in 1984. She
was buried on 16 July 1984 and lies in the same grave as her parents.
6. James Benjamin Young was born in 1873 in Kangaroo Flat and died in 1933 in Prahran, Victoria.
7. Arthur George Young was born in 1875 in Bendigo.
8. Evelyn Gertrude Young
was born in 1878 in Bendigo but died shortly after in 1879. She
was buried on 27 June 1879 at the Bendigo Cemetery in Grave 1482.
